What’s the Best Way to Advertise in Traffic Exchanges?

The best way to utilize a Traffic Exchange…

I believe the best way to advertise in a Traffic Exchange is a Lead Capture Page (aka LCP) or some call them a Squeeze Page. Whatever you prefer to call it… Simply, it is a page that incorporates a way to capture (Auto-Responder) the name and an email address of someone that is interested in information you are providing usually free (e- book, article, download, access to a site, software etc…). Usually it is fairly small (600px x 300px) or something similar (it needs to fit easily in the traffic viewing area of the surfing area of the Traffic Exchange) and it needs to load fast (remember you have between 8 to 20 seconds to grab their attention (in most Traffic Exchanges) and have them act (fill out the form).

Another way to advertise in a Traffic Exchange is to use a Splash Page (basically a Splash Page is similar in size to a LCP but without the form code). When the surfer clicks on the page it takes them to some other page (sales page, blog, form etc…) if you use this tactic then hopefully you direct that Traffic to a page that captures the same information you are looking for when using a LCP!

You may have noticed that either of the methods above are designed to capture information… Why?

Because using these in Traffic Exchanges BUILDS YOUR LIST!!!

If you have been marketing for any period of time on the NET then you have heard that the money is in your list or you need to build your list etc… The goal of your advertising in Traffic Exchanges is to build your list. Hopefully you have provided them with valuable information or useful software etc… so that you begin to build their trust once you have their trust then they will be more willing to check out your program or product and ultimately become repeat consumers of whatever you are providing. So once you have a list then you can market your products etc… to them and they will be responsive because of their relationship to You. Take Note many… many marketers make the mistake of blasting their list with all kinds of things in an attempt to Make A Sale… You Don’t Want A Sale you want a CUSTOMER!

The other thing you can advertise effectively in a Traffic Exchange (sometimes) is certain products or programs that are extremely HOT and NEW and provides some really good benefits or an In Demand Product.

PLEASE REMEMBER that if you do this 1) it is short lived and 2) you may make a few sales and earn a percentage of the sale or a commission. But those sales are on Somebody ELSE’s Product, Site or Program and are now on Their List. Not as effective in a Traffic Exchange… In my opinion.

Can you see the advantage of using a Traffic Exchange to build your list? When these Hot Products or Programs come along and believe me they do, How many more sales / commissions will you make by marketing to a list that knows and trusts you rather than the masses of surfers that are seeing the same program over and over or already joined the program or bought the product and are promoting the same thing now trying to make a sale…

Obviously,  is to use a LCP to build your list and then market Your Product or Program to your list ;0)

    Hey Eric!
    Nice looking blog, and fabulous content! All the same advice the experts would (and do) give! Way to go, you!
    Only use squeeze pages on TEs is what I’ve been told for sometime, but only just recently got set up properly to implement it and I have noticed a considerable difference in my results! It is definitely the right way to use Traffic Exchanges.
